Beckett 8 months

How can you not love this sweet little guy. He is now 8mths old and has just in the last month started to sit up all by himself. He seems to be in no hurry to crawl or move. At this rate, I believe he is going to be a lot like Tyson and not walk till he is almost 18mths. I really can not get enough of this little guy he melts my heart everyday with his smile and laugh! Oh, he has the best belly laugh in the world and his blue eyes are to die for!!! He loves to eat all kinds of food, can not live with out his pacifier or blanket, take baths, and most of all loves to watch his brothers play. I will sit him in the play room and he will just sit there for over an hour and watch them all run around and play with the toys. He wants to always been in on the action and never left in a room all by himself! I am one lucky mom to have this little boy(all my boys for that matter).

Pictures of Paxton's ear

Its been just little over a week now and I finally remember I should take pictures of his ear. He has been doing pretty good but we did have a bump in the road. Two days ago he got hit in the ear. I did not see it happen but a little boy in our neighbor and Paxton where playing. I think they where jumping over each other and something about paxton did not get down in time and he caught his ear. When it happened I was just a bit freaked out. Paxton come running to me crying and yelling his ear has been hit. When he gets to me, there was a spot in the back of his ear dripping with blood. I new that one or two of his stitches had broken. By this time Matt has taken him from me(we where down the st. a bit playing in a church parking lot by our house) and I told him to hurry home with him and I would get the rest of the boys. I gathered all the boys with help from and friend and the little walk that it is to get home was trying so hard not to cry. I just hate to see one of my boys hurt. We put a call into the doc. and when he called back he said just to apply pressure and dress it with gauze. We already had an appt. to see the doc the next morning so he said he should be ok as long as the blood stops. The next day at the doctors he reminded me quite a couple times to please not let my child get hit in the ear again. The ear looked good just set him back a couple days of healing. Before he got hit it was starting to lay back down and not be as red. So sense than I have had to be the mean mom and not let him really play with other kids. I have to watch him like a hawk. His ear now is getting lots better. I still think it looks gross but its getting better every day!

Here are pictures of the back of his ear. Where the dry blood is, that is where it opened up a bit again.

Fire Station

The Fire Station down the st. from us was having an open house. So a few of us on the st. walked down to see what fun things they had for the kids to do. They had a few booths set up, fire trucks to sit in, free lunch and much more. It was fun to get out with all of are friends.

Paxton's ear surgery!

Our sweet little Paxton had ear surgery the other day! He had a hole in his ear that needed to be fixed. The only way to fix this is to cut off the whole back of the ear (which was a two and a half hour surgery) and sew it back on. Poor kid was not very happy that he had to wear this head dressing for just a little over 2 days. He cried and cried over this head wrap for the first day. He also had a bit of a few rough days. It seemed that every time he ate he would throw up. It took us a bit to figure out that it was the pain meds doing this to him. As always with any surgery he was tired and slept a ton. After two day of wearing the head wrap we where able to take it off. Lets just say, its not very pleasant to look at and his poor ear stick out quite a bit. The doc has reassured me that it will go back in and look normal. He now still has packing in his ear and every week we go into the dr. they will take a bit out at a time. The only kicker is he has told us that he can not get hit in the ear for at least a month. No rough housing and contact sports. I kinda laughed when he told us this. Does he not realize that we have 5 kids and they are all boys. We don't need sports to have lots of contact in our house. This is going to be a very fun month.
