What Mother

Yes we are sick in our house again.
And these are Carters eyes, he has his brother Paxton to thank for them.
You see Pax, was sick first this weekend a bad ear infection, a very high temp and a cold in his eyes (that yes is contagious) sent us to urgent care on Sat. just after I had worked a 12 hour day at my job. Sweet baby Carter woke up on Sunday looking like this. So another call to the doc. pleading with him that I did not want to go to urgent care. Just needed drops for Carter's eyes. (You see the lovely doctor at Urgent Care, did not give me drops just antibotics that take 24 hours to not make it contagious. I tried to explain to this doc I have 4 kids and I just new someone else will catch it.) So sense Dr. Chiles is so kind and knows just how much we love seeing doctors. Called a prescription in for Carter. Next thing on my list this week besides my baby turning ONE!!
Is now take 2 kids to the doctor again.

Carter vs RSV
I called the doc. right away and they said to just come. So off we went on Friday to visit the doctor again for the 3rd time that week. When the doctor came in he new right away that it had to be RSV (but he did a q-tip swab and stuck it up Carter's nose for an RSV test) it came back positive.
"Children usually develop symptoms of RSV about 3-5 days after being exposed to someone else who is sick with RSV, either by direct contact with their respiratory secretions or indirect contact with contaminated toys and other objects.
He wrote out 4 prescriptions, and then he has to take two over the counter medicine (ibuprofen, and benadral). One of the prescriptions was for breathing treatments with the nebulizer!

Our little guy is Sick!!
Well, Paxton has been so sick these last two days. He has not gotten up from the couch, his breathing is heavy and he has a horrible cough. I took him to the doctor yesterday morning (which I thought we will just get some antibiotic and be on our way). Boy, was I wrong we ended up being there from 11am to 4pm...that's 5 hours! He had to get blood drawn, ex-rays of his chest(they showed fluid in both lungs), and a shot of Rocephin in the leg. The doctor keep saying he may have to admit him to the hospital. But, in the end we got to come home and go back and see him this morning. He decide that sense he looks a little better today, just to give him another shot of Rocephin in his other leg. If any of you have had kids, that have had to have this shot its not fun. The liquid is so thick it hurts really bad when it goes through, also you have to wait 30 min after you get the shot in the office to make sure you don't have a reaction. That's how strong this stuff is. Lets just say Pax was not a happy camper! Now both his legs are so sore and he loves to tell you "his sick" . So what does he have, really we have no clue, he thinks Pneumonia but if anything he just has a very bad infection. I hope he gets better soon.
